Your Solution to Missing Teeth
Dental Implants is the most stable support for missing teeth compared to other restorative and cosmetic procedures. A dental implant is a replacement for the roots of a tooth. Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in one’s jawbone
Here are some of the many advantages of Dental Implants:
- Enhances your mouth’s aesthetic appearance
- Help preserve natural tooth by minimizing the need to remove your other teeth
- Lasts for a longer time compared to other dental appliances
- Helps you to chew your food better and speak more clearly
- Restores tissue in the face
- Provide support for bridges and dentures, increasing comfort and stability
Dental Implants Procedure
Your dentist will have to get an x-ray or a CT Scan of your jaw before starting on the bite impressions. This is done to assess whether there is a sufficient space to insert the implant. Local anesthesia is applied to the site, then the implant is inserted. After which, a duration of 6 months is allowed for the body to join with the implant and for your gums to heal. A second surgery visit may have to be prescribed by your dentist, depending on the patient’s condition and the implant used which involves the fixture of a post in order to integrate the artificial tooth in place. Some, but not all, dental implants include both the post and anchor in one unit so that they can be inserted simultaneously.
Once the healing phase has passed, the artificial teeth are placed to the post of the dental implant. A number of visits are necessary, depending on the condition which takes up to 2 months to complete. During your last visit, the new teeth will now be cemented to the implants, providing a comfortable, stable and strength when worn by the patient.
Here at our office, we also offer mini dental implants. These teeth implants are about half the diameter of traditional implants are used mainly to stabilize lower dentures. They can be placed in one appointment and be immediately used. The cost is 50-70% of standard dental implants.
